The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) receives award for Eco-Tours and was named representative to receive award on behalf of the Choctawhatchee Bay in the “2015 Perfect in South Walton-Best of the Best” list.

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) of Northwest Florida State College received two awards in the 2015 Perfect in South Walton- Best of the Best list. A perfect ending to the inaugural year of Walton County based Eco-Tours, CBA was awarded with the People’s Choice Award for the “Best Adventure Experience”. CBA was also named the representative to receive an award on behalf of the ‘Choctawhatchee Bay’, which was named a top finalist in the category “Best Nature Locale”.

In partnership with the Walton County Tourist Development Council (TDC), CBA Eco-Tours give visitors and locals a-like an opportunity to ‘Discover Roads Less Traveled’, and explore Walton County’s great outdoors. Rich in biodiversity, the area offers a variety of eco-systems and settings for an adventure. The 2014 award winning line-up included paddling tours in the Coastal Dune Lakes and local springs, historical walking tours of Coffeen Nature Preserve, bicycling tours of the state forest, bird watching in the state parks, and a variety of fishing tours and clinics, to name a few.

CBA is a non-profit watershed organization whose efforts are focused on raising awareness to increase the health and sustainability of local waterways, through the monitoring, research, restoration and education. For over 18 years, CBA has promoted water stewardship within the Choctawhatchee Watershed, growing the network of supporters who have joined in the mission to provide a future for these natural resources.
