Mrs. Johnnie Mae McCormick, age 78, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. She was born March 15, 1938 in Freeport, Florida to John and Sarah Cooper Hare.

Mrs. McCormick was a lifelong resident of Freeport. She was Methodist by faith and a member of the Black Creek Methodist Church. She worked in housekeeping at Bay Medical Center for many years before retiring. She also worked in the lunchroom at Freeport High School. She enjoyed fishing and hunting and taking care of her dogs.

Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her parents, her husband H.G. McCormick, special friend Charles Simmons and sister Ila Fanning.

Mrs. McCormick is survived by her three sons, Edward B. Godwin, Ernie Blake Godwin and wife Barbara and Eric Bruce Godwin and wife Val; two brothers, Willard Hare and Willie Hare of Freeport, Florida; sister, Mae McCormick all of Freeport, Florida, three grandchildren, Thomas Godwin and wife Brittany, Ben Godwin and wife Jessica and Sarah Godwin and Thomas Dickey and numerous great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held at 1:00-2:00 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Black Creek Methodist Church; 102 Memorial Lane, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Black Creek Methodist Church, with Reverend Bill Hunter and Reverend Harold Altman officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will follow in the Black Creek Cemetery.

Those ask to serve as pallbearers are Thomas Godwin, Ben Godwin, Thomas Dickey, Curtis Bennett, Troy Evans, Anthony Bates and Ernie Godwin.
