Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Harris, age 84, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was born March 27, 1932 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Harris was a lifelong resident of Walton County. She enjoyed creating works of art whether it be from cross stiching or crocheting her grandchildren baby blankets and great grandchildren alike. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, she was active in her faith at South Walton Baptist Church. She worked with her husband owning and operating their business along the Emerald Coast. She was a member of South Walton First Baptist Church by the Bay, Girl Scout Leader, National Arbor Day Society, and worked with South Walton Fire Department.
Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her father, Gamble Williams, mother, Leathie Williams, sister, Bonnie Hall, brother, Carlton Williams, husband, William Harris, and grandson, Joshua Spaid.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her brother Clifton Williams, four sons, Bobby Smithson of Indiana, Billy-Wayne Smithson and wife Gean of Missouri, William Harris, Jr. and wife Gina of Choctaw Beach, FL, Rickey Harris of Florida, and three daughters Carolyn Miller and husband Jim of Michigan, Donna Hinson of Freeport, FL., daughter, Sheila Wilson of Freeport, FL, fourteen grandchildren, Jason Spaid, Jimmy Spaid, Russell Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Chad Anderson, Cassandra Wilson, Westley Wilson, Abigail Harris, Brock Harris, Marissa Harris, Michael Harris, Jeff Bissell, Amy Bissell and 26 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, with Dr. Walt Campbell officiating.
