A third earthquake has been reported near the Florida/Alabama state line in less than a week. According to United States Geological Survey (USGS), a magnitude 2.3 earthquake struck near Flomaton just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. USGS says the earthquake struck one kilometer – a little more than a half-mile – north of Flomaton. USGS also reports the depth of the earthquake is five kilometers – just over three miles. An earthquake struck last week closer to Jay, and on Monday a second quake hit north-northeast of Flomaton.
